Dining Alfresco!

9.15.2020

By now, the cabin fever has set in and the craving for something outside of our own kitchen is palpable.  Besides, cooking is the last thing you want to do at the height of Los Angeles summer. Finally some good news! ROW restaurants are now open and alfresco dining is more of a way of life than ever.

Find everything from buttery, toasted lobster rolls, to beautifully assembled bento boxes, to iced blueberry matcha lattes. It’s all here in our ROW dining roundup.

While you're here, check out the spots across the district where you can dine out and make a day of it. And before you go, keep reading to know all the Most Loved Menu Items beforehand, so you can order like a pro.

Café Dulce

It’s hot and you’re in need of an iced coffee buzz – stat. With its spacious, airy layout, abundance of spaced out seating, and its top-notch menu, Café Dulce is here for your next caffeinated, moment of zen. Not to mention, the wifi is as strong as the coffee, making it the perfect spot for you and your team’s next socially distanced working jam sesh.

MOST POPULAR MENU ITEMS: BLUEBERRY MATCHA LATTE, VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE, BREAKFAST BURRITO.

Café Dulce is open Mon-Fri 8am to 2pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm for walk-ins! Or call ahead for pickup 213-536-9633.

Rappahannock Oyster Bar

Rappahannock has got the best alternative to road-tripping to the East Coast this summer to obtain your Raw Bar fix. Plus, their menu contains all the seafood classics you’d hope to see, with their very own LA twist.  Try their lobster roll, one of the largest and most fully loaded in the city, or order oysters to-go for an all too easy Instagram flex.

MOST POPULAR MENU ITEMS: LOBSTER ROLL, RAPP BURGER, SHRIMP TACOS.

For socially distant, full-service dining, the large corner patio location is impossible to miss. Or be the captain of your own destiny, and scope out your favorite spot on property. We personally love the view from the Rooftop Park (or should we say, The Eagle’s Nest?).

Rappahannock is open Tues-Fri 12pm to 8pm, Sat & sun 11am to 8pm for patio dining, takeout and delivery from all your favorite apps.  Bonus: Happy hour is Tues-Sun from 4pm to 6pm!

Pikunico

Japanese Fried Chicken (aka Karaage) is the fried chicken we never knew we needed, and now can’t live without! With a well-rounded menu featuring the signature free-range, gluten-free chicken, and an array of salads and vegetable sides, it’s hard to go wrong! The obvious choice, though, is the combination basket, in which you can try a little of everything.

MOST POPULAR MENU ITEMS: GOLDEN CHICKEN SANDWICH, MIX FRIED CHICKEN, YUZU AID.

The name Pikunico, a playful combination of 'picnic' and the name of the Chef-owner Kuniko Yagi, tells you much of what you need to know – this is a casual restaurant, based on picnic food that you can take outside. Fittingly, there’s plenty of outdoor seating right by the pick-up window. Hot tip: bring your camera and find inspiration amidst all the bright outdoor murals, and make some art of your own!

Pikunico is open Wed-Sun 11am to 8pm for takeout or delivery. Order online here.

Hayato

From the Michelin Star chef’s counter straight to your lap, the meticulously assembled bento boxes from Chef-owner Brandon Go are not only delicious, but beautiful enough to make you weep. For a perfect lunch date with friends, reserve ahead for pickup – then enjoy a transporting meal in the soothing shade of the giant tree at The End. Or you could go it alone, all the better to quietly savor every blissful bite.

MOST POPULAR MENU ITEM: THE BENTO BOX.

Hayato is opening soon! Stay tuned to our IG @rowdtla for announcements.

Go Get Em Tiger

Go Get Em Tiger’s extensive menu reads as so much more than that of your typical coffee shop, offering all-day breakfast items such as ‘Crispy Polenta with Egg, Bacon and Kale’ and the ‘Yeast Raised Waffle with Stone Fruit, Ricotta and Honey.’

MOST POPULAR MENU ITEMS: GGET BURGER, TOMATO + BURRATA BAGUETTE, FIZZY HOPPY TEA.

Order for takeaway or you could stay and enjoy your ‘Business and Pleasure’ from GGET’s large patio area, all the better a vantage point to admire the goods within their colorful shop. Their gear is some of the most uplifting – as is their coffee, of course, for which you can subscribe to their coffee club to get your fix on the regular. All proudly brewed in Los Angeles.

GGET is opening soon for pickup or delivery, place your order here.
