Transition Your Home For Fall
Picks from Fashionphile’s Interior Designer, Nicole Davis
Fall has officially arrived and if you’re like us, we’ve been patiently awaiting this autumnal shift - decor, weather and otherwise. In honor of our pop-up with Fashionphile, we had the chance to speak with their interior designer, Nicole Davis, whose artistry has earned her a reputation for refined and beautiful interiors focusing on the comforts of home without compromising style and design. Her goal with each client is to create a space, “reflective of her clients needs and lifestyle while incorporating a simple sophistication.” From comfortable touches to warm hues, Nicole shares the top tips on how to transition your home for fall to make it inviting for these *hopefully* chillier months ahead.
Tip #1: Lean in to your inner maximalist with this beaded double handed vessel. Nothing helps you feel cozy in your space more than layering and adding soft textures, like this sculptural woven vessel from Hawkins New York. It is definitely on trend that more is more.
Tip #2: We always recommend mixing in antique pieces or furniture, art or found trinkets, like this large, frosted food bowl. Given that last year, we see that clients are prioritizing the “moments” in their homes that are private, comforting and personal. This also means we are going to be designing and seeing a lot more use of room dividers with furniture or screens to create more usable spaces.
Tip #3: Always have your favorite fall scented candle burning.
Tip #4: Mix different wood tones to give that collected edge to your home. Dark stained woods add texture to wood furniture and cabinetry. Bold countertop materials and dark color palettes compliment each other.
Tip #5: Use warm earthy tones, like this TerraCotta statement vase or this mahogany footed bowl, around your house. I’m loving deep rich colors for Fall 2021. We’ve been painting rooms in colors of deep cocoa, mahogany browns, off black, and dark hunter greens. Here are the specific colors to look for:
Cocoa or chocolate brown/mahogany
Soft olive sprig
