The Edit: Fall Fashion

The styles you’ll wear on repeat

10.20.2021

As fall’s cool winds approach with trepidation, we all can’t help but wonder… when will we be able to really dress for fall? We’re talking light sweaters, warm colors and cozy trousers. We’re talking twill coats, not fleece ones. We’re talking cotton scarves, not wool ones.

And we’re okay with that! Any shift in the weather is graciously accepted on our end to escape the magnanimous heat that was the summer season. Therefore, we are writing this post about the fall layers and trends to get excited about the cooler temperatures arriving, if and when they do.

Tonal Tops

Burnt oranges, forest greens and neutral whites are the colors of the season. Throw in a funky pattern if you feel so inclined; florals for fall are the new black. If that feels too bold, try a more classic stripe with a mock neck, making this style perfect for that light, yet cool fall breeze trickling in.

Structured Jackets

Military green may be our favorite color for fall - especially when it comes in this structured, yet loose fitting jacket. This modern twist on the classic blazer is also fun, and allegedly perfect for traveling for work or hiking up a mountain! That is the definition of wearability right there. Throw in some cargo pants - a structural piece by nature - to own the wearable (and stylish) storage of your dreams.

Bold Accessories

The accessories make the outfit and these ones definitely deliver on that promise. What is a purse when you can have a pouch? This military-style, navy one connects to belts or other bags. A bright colored beanie will add a pop of color to any look, but if that’s too much, try utilizing that bolder color pop more subtly in your shoe or your watch. A light bandana like this one, can keep you warm without having to worry about overheating, and is easily removable if you do.

No matter where this season takes us, these trends will guide you and your wardrobe in the right direction so that you can dress for fall even if it doesn’t feel like it. Shop away!
