ROW, ROW, ROW to DTLA Our first stop at ROW DTLA, a sprawling 12-hectare, six-building development (kind of like an outdoor shopping mall but way hipper), is the shiny work space of Armenian sculptor Zadik Zadikian, who’s not only got gold stairs leading up to his studio, but works almost exclusively in 24K gold leaf. The eventual mix of 100 retail, restaurants and office spaces (from 7th Street to 8th Street, and from Central Avenue to Alameda Street) will spring from the historic produce market, which was built between 1917 and 1923 along the Southern Pacific Railroad and is still going strong 100 years later, operating Monday to Saturdays.
