An Interview with Clare V.

Clare Vivier has built a cult-favorite brand that blends French chic with California ease- handbags, apparel, and accessories that feel as effortless as they are iconic. Ahead of her upcoming sample sale at ROW DTLA later this month, we caught up with Clare to chat about style inspiration, Los Angeles favorites, and a peek into her world.

ROW DTLA: You’ve been such a big part of shaping LA style- what’s one thing you think makes LA fashion unique? 

Clare: There are so many different parts of the city that each have their own distinct personality. So I’d say the variety in the way people are expressing themselves in a laid back atmosphere because dressing up isn’t really something people fall back on here. 

ROW DTLA: You’ve popped up at ROW DTLA before (six times to be exact) - what do you love about being here? 

Clare: Our office is in Silverlake and we have factory partners downtown so it really feels like our backyard. There are also so many cute shops, great food, and cafés over here to explore. And PARKING!

ROW DTLA: ROW brings together food, fashion, art and culture in one place. If you had a free afternoon here, where would we find you? 

Clare: Pizzeria Bianco, hopefully having a glass of wine with Chris

ROW DTLA: What’s inspiring you right now - whether in fashion, art, or everyday life? 

‍Clare: Hand-painted signs, little beads & charms.

• LA morning or Paris evening? Paris evening, though I have been loving LA mornings lately
• Classic tote or statement clutch? You can’t ask that of a handbag designer

ROW DTLA: What excites you most about bringing your sample sale to ROW this year? 

Clare: Seeing everyone and sharing this year’s sample sale products. The assortment is so fun.
