This workshop will introduce students to the wonder of marbling, an amazing, sponaneous art form that creates beautiful one-of-a-kind surfaces. We will use a traditional method of marbling in a thickened waterbath, and have the opportunity to make a few practice prints on cardstock as we get the hang of the process. Then, we will marble and assemble vegetable tanned leather journal cover, which we will hand finish for a beautfiul artisanal effect. Each person will learn to cut a pattern, how to create a beautiful decorative stitch, and how to condition and protect the leather for years of use.
